Timing The Sale

Selling real estate in Seattle Washington? Other than putting your home up for sale between Thanksgiving and New Years, there are no bad times to sell.   However, your own schedule should be considered.  As Seattle Washington real estate agents, it's our job to advise you timing your home sale.  Your life will not be your own once your house goes on the market.  Selling a home will be another full time job.  A good estimate is two months to sell your home; one month to find a buyer, one month to close the transaction.  This is just an estimate.  Your mileage may vary.

  1. Do you have guests coming?

  2. Vacations planned?

  3. Kids getting into or out of school?

  4. Any other events anticipated that would effect the normal flow of your household?

Another consideration while selling real estate in Seattle Washington is the type of home you have.  A waterfront property will be more desirable in the spring.  If there is serious construction in your neighborhood, you might want to wait until it's completed.  If you're convinced a family with school age children will buy your home, you may want to sell between the school years.  Maybe your home was landscaped to favor one season over another.  Many people sell due to transfers and promotions, which dictates the timing.  As Seattle Washington real estate agents, our job is to ask the right questions.  Only you can decide the best timing strategy.
