Service After Closing

Real Estate Agents often rival the best magicians.  Like magic, they disappear after the transaction closes.  Many transactions are not complete when the keys change hands.  There are what's called "escrow holdbacks", where parties agree to perform tasks after closing.  Often there are other lingering issues, such as verbal promises, that require the help of the agents.  Agents get paid at closing.  Most of the time it's "sayonara" after the buyer gets the keys!

Buyers often have questions about the property after closing.  Both buyers and sellers can have questions about the paperwork, costs or other particulars that weren't addressed in the rush to finish the deal.  One valuable role agents play throughout the transaction is to act as buffers.  Even after closing, the separation between buyer and seller can help resolve lingering issues. The job is done when it's done.  Agents receive calls months after transactions close from both buyers and sellers asking for advice, help or information.  Agents should provide a total service, which does not end with funding and recording.
